Dr. Joe Martin, PT, DPT, OCS is a Board Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist with 30 years of expertise in sports medicine, exercise science, and athletic performance enhancement.
Dr. Joe is still very active in clinical practice and treats pickleball related injuries on a daily basis in 2 private practice locations in Florida.
· Early in his career, Dr. joe authored, hosted, and produced several DVD’s related to sports performance and injury prevention (Most notably “Skate Great 7” which was a 7 DVD series specifically for Figure Skaters and a 5 DVD series “RunBetterLonger”) and he produced and recorded several episodes of his very own Television show “TheraPTv.”
· In 1998, Dr. Joe invented a unique rehabilitation device (“Rehabilistation”) to help rehabilitate injured workers and went on to sell this $2500 device all over the US and in Honk Kong.
· Dr. Joe started a private outpatient physical therapy and sports medicine practice in 2002 (5 years out of college) and grew that company to 9 locations over a period of 23 years and managed and mentored a team of 70 employees. A unique component of his company was comprised of (3) 12,000 square foot fitness operations.
· Dr. Joe served as the director of a Sports Medicine “rotation” for resident Physicians from a local Medical School.
· Notably, from age 3 to 11, Dr. Joe endured a rocky upbringing in a household plagued by alcoholism, poverty, abuse, and infidelity. He was beaten badly at home and bullied in school and on the streets. He lived in a home for troubled children for 2 years (age 11 & 12) called the House of The Good Shepherd and later in life (In 2023) at age 52, Dr Joe was invited to be a keynote speaker at the organizations 150th Anniversary as he went on to become one of their greatest success stories!
